Riley's cool idea

Riley was singing Christmas songs when we drove to Alexandria this evening and he got to talking about Baby Jesus and his birthday. Then he said to me "we should google Jesus' address so we can send him a card."

I told him you can't really send mail to Heaven -- his reply "Email!!!!"

Sweetest Big Brother Ever!!

We went to the school book fair last night and Riley wanted to bring his own money with to buy a Christmas present for Cabot especially from him. So he looked around, found the book he thought Cabot would like, flipped it over to check the US price and make sure he had enough money, and then had me hide it under the coat I was carrying until he could buy it without Cabot seeing. Then I had to occupy Cabot so Riley could go pay with his own money. He spent $17.99 of his very own, hard-earned money because that was the book he thought Cabot would like the most. And then he thanked me for letting him spend his own money to buy a special present for Cabot -- have you even met a sweeter big brother than that???

And now the book is in BoBo's Christmas present hiding spot - but, I can't say where that is so you don't peek. (=

Cabot is thankful for.....

We asked Cabot what he was thankful for tonight and he said "I'm thankful for Melman, Marty, Alex and Gloria." Then we asked him again and he said "my guys." He really likes those guys. (=

- for those of you that don't know, these are the animals from the Madagascar movie, which he loves! Hence the "Move it, Move it dance birthday party. (= He also sleeps with a little stuffed Melman, Marty, Alex and Gloria.

Naptime Hide-N-Seek

Cabot is in bed for his nap, and over the monitor I hear counting and "Ready or not, here I come!!" He must be playing hide and seek with his "guys" (you know, his stuffed animals) in the bed. He hasn't gotten out of bed though. Cute Kid! (=

"Seeing" Santa

We brought the boys to visit Santa this afternoon (we like to go before Thanksgiving to miss the long lines). Riley hopped right up there to tell Santa that he wanted some chapter books. But, we could not get Cabot to go up by Santa, and when we carried him over there he just clung to us. For just a moment he stood next to Santa with his hands held tightly over his eyes - I SO wish I had gotten a photo of that, it would have been my Christmas cards it was soooo cute! He just stood there and would not even look at Santa. Finally he had me tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas - which was a blanket, and a burp rag, and a blanket for baby Mickey. After we left he kept saying he wanted to see Santa, and tonight he woke up at 9:30 to go to the bathroom and when he was in the bathroom he told me he wanted to see Santa. I told him he did see Santa today and he said, "No I didn't. I didn't see Santa, I had my eyes closed!" CUTE! (= Then when I asked him what he told Santa he wanted he said, "A blanket, a burp rag and an iPod." -- what?? He must have been listening to John tease the boys telling them they should ask Santa to bring an iPhone for him (John)...

The Best 1st Grade Play Ever!

We saw the best 1st grade performance ever!! And we loved Riley's line, "And all across the land, we are thankful for the USA" -- his is the last line before the last song. here's a video of some of the songs. It didn't turn out too well, but you'll get the idea of how cute it was!! (Riley is in a red sweater)

Cabot is such a BIG BOY!!!

Not only did Cabot sleep through the night (without falling out) the past two nights in his new big boy bed - but he had a totally dry diaper when he woke up this morning!!

He still hasn't fallen out of his new bed, but when we just checked this is what we saw. (= And he is soo exhausted he just sleeps through the camera flash....



and then at 1:30 am when I checked on him before I went to bed....

I just went to check on Cabot to see how close to the edge of his new big boy bed he was and saw that he was sleeping like Riley always does - so I had to take a photo of them at the same time. Do you think they are brothers? (=

Nenny and Nonn came down today to help Cabot put together his new big boy bed. (= THANKS, Nenny and Nonn!! Here are some photos of them taking apart the crib and putting together the new bed.

And since Cabot was busy all day and didn't nap he fell asleep before John left the room tonight. Let's hope he sleeps all night and doesn't fall out of bed!! (=
